What a day on Safari looks like

The average day typically commences with a wake-up call, often at dawn, requiring guests to gather at the guest area within 15-30 minutes. Here, a cup of tea or coffee, accompanied by yogurt, cookies, and fresh fruit, is provided to kickstart the day.

Following this early morning refreshment, the game activity begins, emphasizing the advantage of an early start for optimal wildlife sightings. Approximately halfway through the drive, the guide orchestrates a stop for additional refreshments. By 10:00, guests return to the camp or lodge.

Depending on the camp or lodge’s routine, a full breakfast or brunch may be enjoyed. For those opting for a late breakfast, lunch is typically served around 13:00. Guests are then granted a rest period until approximately 15:00, during which they can choose how to spend their leisure time, with relaxation being the key focus.

Around this time, most camps or lodges serve a late lunch or high tea, preceding the afternoon’s activity. In the late afternoon, just before sunset, the guide pauses for sundowners before resuming the safari.

The return to camp after dark varies, with some camps concluding the day’s activities while others extend the excursion. Upon returning to the camp or lodge, guests can swiftly freshen up before indulging in pre-dinner drinks, followed by dinner. In select camps, a night drive may be offered after dinner for those seeking a unique nocturnal wildlife experience.
