Savuti Luxury Mobile Camp

Savuti Luxury Mobile Safari offers guests an intimate, mobile tented experience deep within one of Botswana’s most legendary wildlife destinations – the Savuti Channel and surrounding woodlands of Chobe National Park. Known for its raw beauty and dramatic predator-prey interactions, Savuti is a place where nature still writes its own rules. Ancient sand ridges, open grasslands, rocky outcrops, and ephemeral watercourses define the landscape, creating a mosaic of habitats that support an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.

This region has long been celebrated for its high-density predator population – particularly lion and spotted hyena – and is famous for the powerful stories of survival that unfold daily within its vast wilderness. By choosing a mobile safari, guests are placed in the heart of the action, close to wildlife corridors, waterholes, and migratory routes, with the ability to respond to wildlife movements as they happen.

Tented accommodation is set in carefully selected private wilderness sites within Savuti, offering both seclusion and proximity to nature’s greatest theatre. Here, the nights are filled with the distant calls of lion, and mornings begin with the promise of discovery. This is an authentic and soul-stirring safari – adventurous, yet indulgent.

FACILITIES

Savuti Activities:

Game Drives

Game drives in Savuti are nothing short of extraordinary. The region’s landscape transitions between broad floodplains and rocky kopjes, offering a rich variety of wildlife habitats. Guests can expect exceptional sightings of lions (notoriously known for hunting elephants), leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dogs, and large herds of elephants and buffalo. Drives are led by seasoned guides who know the rhythms of the land intimately – taking guests to prime viewing areas while offering insight and interpretation of every encounter.

Culture & Sundowners

Though deep in the wilderness, Savuti Mobile Safari maintains a sense of connection to the broader story of Botswana. Cultural tales, passed on by guides around the fire, enrich the experience with local history and folklore. Each day ends with sundowners at scenic lookout points – often a peaceful pan or elevated granite outcrop – where guests can relax with a drink in hand and watch the bush transform in the golden light.

Birding

For birders, Savuti offers outstanding year-round opportunities, with over 400 recorded species. Raptors such as bateleurs, martial eagles, and secretary birds are commonly seen soaring above, while the summer months welcome colourful migrants including carmine bee-eaters and woodland kingfishers. From the melodious call of the white-browed robin-chat at dawn to the dramatic displays of kori bustards, birding here is dynamic and rewarding.
