Touch down at Maun International Airport where you’ll be met by our team and assisted onto your charter flight to Grasslands Safari Lodge. As you soar over the vastness of the Kalahari, the scale and serenity of this remote wilderness unfold below you.
On arrival at the private airstrip, you’ll be transferred to the lodge and welcomed with refreshments. Settle into your chalet and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading out for a sundowner drive or relaxing at the waterhole deck. Dinner is served in the main lapa as the stars begin to glitter in the endless sky.
Your day begins with coffee or tea delivered to your chalet. After breakfast, join a morning game drive through the lodge’s vast private concession. Look for kudu, wildebeest, oryx, giraffe, and predators like cheetahs and African wild dogs.
Return to camp for a hearty lunch and a restful midday. In the afternoon, take part in the Bushman Experience, a profound cultural immersion led by Neeltjie. Learn how the San track animals, gather food, and understand nature.
Enjoy sundowners and storytelling by the fire, followed by another memorable meal under the stars.
After breakfast, set out on a guided Rhino Tracking experience – a deeply moving and educational encounter with one of Africa’s most endangered animals. Accompanied by skilled trackers, you’ll gain first-hand insight into rhino conservation and the importance of their protection.
Later in the day, choose between a horseback safari, another game drive, or simply unwind at the lodge and take in the tranquil atmosphere. As night falls, gather around the fire for a festive dinner and stargazing beneath the Kalahari’s velvet sky.
On your final morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and one last look over the Kalahari plains. You’ll then transfer to the airstrip for your charter flight back to Maun, where your onward journey continues.
